It's not quite head-shaving weather, but lately I'd consider shaving my head just so I stop shedding so much. I don't know what the deal is, but I'm leaving stray hair EVERYWHERE, and it's getting annoying. Maybe my metabolism is changing again.
It is, in fact, pretty nice weather today. If there was any sailable water around here, it would be sailing weather. I should be outside. I will be, when I get done filling out job applications (I have to go drop them off). I could, I suppose, mail the silly things, but if I hand-deliver them, I know they got to the right office if not the right person, and it doesn't cost me anything in postage. And exercise is good for me.
It's infuriating to consider that KSU thinks I'm employable, and refuses to employ me. It was their idea for me to take all the silly qualifying tests for employment in the first place, and I passed them, and now I swear every application I turn in goes straight into the trash can. Sigh. So I keep applying for jobs anyway, because if I don't, I definitely won't get one. I was hoping to be employed by Memorial Day, but that's not looking likely. If I could just get the employment problem sorted out, I could start planning the trip to Boston. If I don't have a job, I might spend a week or so in New England and/or New York; if I do have a job, I'll have to work things out so that I have as little time away from work as possible. I think I can get away with only taking a day and a half if it's a full-time job, or one day if it's part-time. It would be nice to know one way or the other, though. Whichever contingency I plan for, the other one will probably happen. Murphy's Law, and all.
I found out, by dint of reading the municipal/public works newsletter last week, that Kent has a farmer's market on Saturdays starting in mid-June. I think I'm going to have to go investigate that.
Sometime next week, I'm going on an expedition to Akron in search of new sneakers. I really need to get more exercise, and the KSU gym won't let me do anything without sneakers (except possibly climb, but that costs $16 per month, plus safety test, and I can't use my own gear, so plus gear rental).
Oh, hell. I have to find a song that will get "You Will Go to the Moon" out of my head. It seems to be firmly entrenched. Any suggestions?
