You are a cheese ferret sock!
You are a cheese ferret sock. A CHEESE FERRET SOCK! Cheese, ferret, sock. You are also a cheese ferret sock.
Better day today. I don't feel like I'm slightly dislocated from the rest of the world.
Yesterday I had to go out and buy stamps, and on the way back from that I ran into the property manager for the apartment complex I live in. She said the landscapers who take care of this place are looking for help, and that she'd pass on my phone number. If I get a job due to having to go out and spend money yesterday, I'll laugh.
In addition to buying stamps, I bought some drawing paper and decent pencils and a decent eraser. I've been feeling like drawing lately, but all I had was enormous paper and the sort of mechanical pencils that are fine for writing, but I don't like to draw with them. And the erasers on mechanical pencils aren't meant for drawing either.
Last night, fortunately before I actually fell asleep, a very short thunderstorm came through. There was a lightning strike around here somewhere, so close that I heard the *tick* when the lightning hit whatever it was. It sounded like the noise it makes when you turn on a light and the bulb blows immediately. The thunderclap afterward shook the whole building. It would have scared me to death if I had been asleep at the time.
I woke up this morning and realized I'd been dreaming in French. At least I assume I was, because in the dream I was in France, and whatever language was being spoken, it definitely wasn't English. Since French is the only other language I can carry on a conversation in, that makes it the obvious candidate. As far as I remember, I haven't dreamed in French since I was living there, although whuffle might disagree with me about that.
In general, life goes, and I keep forgetting that this is a long weekend. I don't think Kent does anything in particular about Memorial Day other than taking the day off.
