I got on the phone intending to cancel my Earthlink account, since 99% of what I get through it is spam and I don't want to pay every month for the privilege of receiving spam, and got off the phone with two months of free e-mail service. Yes, I know, I should've stood up for myself and gone ahead with canceling the account anyway. However, since I'm not paying for the privilege of receiving spam for the next couple of months, I decided to let it go that long. So in August I'll call them up again and cancel it for good.

Anybody who doesn't have an e-mail address for me at a different domain than Earthlink can send me mail at mkdchenes at yahoo dot com and get the ones I'm actually using these days.

I'd deal with it. Free is good.

Most of the point of this whole exercise was to stop paying for an account I'm not getting use out of, particularly over the summer. So I'm getting more or less what I wanted, although I'm still debating whether free spam is any better than spam I'm paying for.

at the very worst, you could never go back to the account. No outlay, ultimate choice. Id say thats good. And anyway, you can use it for access and account registration at websites where people would

That's why I have my own domain. :) I just set up COMPANY's URL at matthewmiller dot net and I know who sold my contact info.

Dice.com for example, sells your contact info to so many people it's funny.

Monster.com does not appear to have sold my contact info.
