Last night I had nothing but really weird dreams. The only one I remember concerned a guy with a hook instead of a left hand, who liked to hide in trees and jump down and impale you with the hook when you walked under the tree. I actually woke up after that one and decided I wanted to dream about something else, thank you very much, and had another weird but less disturbing dream afterward.
The heat turned itself on in the middle of the night, in spite of the fact that the thermostat is still set for summer, so it must've been COLD last night. I guess it's officially fall now.
At the risk of becoming boring, I love my new computer system, printer and all. Having a system that (a) works, (b) works fast, (c) prints, and (d) still runs programs my old laptop ran is a really wonderful thing. Anybody want a Powerbook 1400c with a 1GB drive, CD drive, 400Mhz G3 processor and 33.6 modem? I don't know what to do with it other than sell it on eBay.
I find myself looking forward to the 19th, when we're having people over to hang out and play games. I'm not sure why; usually the thought of largish numbers of people in my private space makes me nervous. Depending on the people, small numbers of people in my private space make me nervous, even. Maybe I've finally found a crowd I'm comfortable with?
We had a housewide closet excavation the other night in preparation for King Richard's Faire this weekend. I still don't know what I'm going to wear, but I think it involves my corset. I also inherited a black velvet halter top I've got to find an excuse for wearing, since it looks pretty good and shows off my tattoo quite nicely. Too bad it's getting to be winter. It's not the sort of thing you can wear when it's cold out. Maybe I'll wear it for Arisia.
Time to get back to work, apparently.

</Dirty Old Man>
Wait, if you wear them to the fair I'll see anyway.
Forget I said anything.

Date: 2002-10-10 08:07 am (UTC)Freud would have a field day.
Fortunately, I think Freud was full of it. His description of the average person's obsession with sex is unrealistic and wrong. I've only know two people as obsessed with sex as Freud thinks everyone is.
>heat turned itself on in the middle of the night
My apartment has no thermostat. You just turn on one of the little heat dials with settings like High, Medium and Low. Annoying as Hell. On the bright side, I'm on the top floor of a brick building, so everyone else's heat bill contributes to warming my apartment. I've never seen it go below 65 in that place. Right now the heat is off, the windows are closed and it's stifling!

And we in the PC world envy you for it.
On a side note, Suse Linux Sucks, Mandrake appears much better.
>largish numbers of people in my private
>space makes me nervous
Well, there are all the health issues of -
Wait. That's not what you meant, never mind. (Yes, I am one of the two people I mentioned above, what's your point?)
>my corset
>black velvet halter top
>my tattoo
And all the straight men, lesbians and bisexual individuals reading the journal take a moment to reflect.
Did they wear halter tops in Medieval England?
