OK, I'm not going to cut all my hair off. I'm going to dye it about two shades redder to get rid of the streak, and I'm going to see if I can find something else to do with the front. I want to keep the bangs, but part my hair on the side, so maybe the sort-of-cowlick in the bangs will do something different.

In any case, I'm not doing anything with it until the weekend after next, because I need to find a different place to get my hair cut in general. The one I've been going to out here doesn't really inspire confidence, since the last time they cut my bangs, I could have done it better myself. I think I might have to wait until I get somewhere close to civilization again before I find a place that will do what I want and do it well. (I wonder if the place my mother gets her hair cut could do it?)

Now I'm wondering whether I should try to dye my hair myself, or whether I should let somebody else do it so the streak gets covered adequately. In the long run, hair grows, so anything I do to it that doesn't work out right will go away eventually.

I'd get it done by a professional.

Do you remember what my hair looked like when we met???

That was the result of a home dye job.

Well, a drunken home dye job that someone convinced me was a good idea, but a home dye job none the less.

Don't do it yourself. remember how patchy mine came out in college? That is what happens when you try to dye it yourself and your hair hasn't been dyed before. Some spots take the dye really well and others don't. Get a professional to do it. And definetly wait till you are closer to civilization to get it done cuz then you can get a good cut too. Wanna get it done here when next you happen to visit? The cut you chose looked nice. And if you use a little stuff to get more body out of your hair it should hold that cut nicely. And if you find a good hairstylist and warn them about your cowlick, they could intentionally incorporate it into the flyaway look of the bangs.

So yeah, for what my 0.5c is worth, you should do this. Definetly. Am I opinionated or what?

0.5c

Wait a second.

0.5 Cents is half a penny, or 1/4 of TWO cents worth.

So will it take four posts to get two cents worth of commentary?

Seconded on the suggestion to have a professional do it the first time, although after that (or if you can't afford a professional) it's a great excuse to share a shower with someone.

There you go, start showering with a hair dresser.
