(A) First, recommend to me:

1. a movie:
2. a book:
3. a musical artist, song, or album:

(B) I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions, no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.

Now for the stuff:

Having gone to a talk by the owner of a translation agency, who seems to think I can do everything I need to on a Mac as long as it's a good one, and being attached to a university for the next six months or so and therefore eligible for a discount, I'm buying a G4 PowerBook when next semester's loan refund shows up. I called my parents to find out if they had any pertinent thoughts, and they said "buy it", so I am. (Note to self: find out how much WordFast costs.) Other pearls of wisdom: specialize in something (I was planning on that anyway), preferably legal or medical (I was planning on medical; nice to know it's a good idea), and don't worry too much about lack of experience, because the degree will count for a lot.

I still need to buy a keychain drive. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow; the bookstore has some reasonably cheap ones and all I really need is something to put three documents on next week.

I went to the temporary public library tonight. For a temporary library, it seems to be perfectly adequate. Yay!

For some reason or other, I'm having a terrible time getting motivated to finish either of the two technical translations I have to finish this weekend. Both are due on Tuesday, and I have a draft of a third due then too. SciTechMed is the only class I have next week, because the school closes after noon on Wednesday, so there are no evening classes.

It seems my iron level is still too low to give blood, but it's only 1 point too low. They said next time I try to give blood, I should take a teaspoonful of molasses a day for a couple of days beforehand. I'd never heard that one before.

I'm going to have to come up with a name for the new computer. Its predecessors are The B.H. of C. (stands for The Black Hole of Calcutta) and Cerebral Oddity, and I'm writing this on Notorious Parsley. Hm. "The Federation Starship Stop That" is a little long. This requires some more thought. (Or possibly less thought, which has been known to work too...)

Happy Friday.

OK, for recommendations, I'll do my best.

1) Movie: Since "Serenity" isn't out yet, I'll go with Philadelphia Story
2) Book: Geez, how about "The Ring of Allaire" by Susan Dexter
3) Musical artist: Try 'October Project'.

Three questions...

1) Where are you hoping to live/work after you graduate?
2) If you could go anywhere in the world for a week's vacation, where would you go?
3) Should I cut my hair?

1. Hopefully back in Boston, although it depends on who's hiring and where they are. If I can get an in-house position, I'll go where the company is. I can freelance from anywhere. Wherever I end up, though, it really ought to know about Trader Joe's or a reasonable facsimile thereof.

2. If it were summer, I would go back to Italy. If it were winter, I'd go somewhere in the Caribbean. (I joke every winter about running away to Aruba, but I can't remember why I decided on Aruba specifically.)

3. If you're tired enough of having long hair, by all means. It is, after all, your hair. (I'm leaving mine long, and just getting it dyed and the bangs re-engineered, I think.)

1. Neither, actually. What it did was make me realize that the way I see myself isn't that far off from the way other people see me. Sometimes people see themselves in a completely different way than the rest of the world does; I seem not to do that.

2. I'm trying. I notice that I've got more energy now that my iron level is back up again.

3. No, why?
