This weekend I slept, embroidered, went to the grocery store, did laundry and watched movies on my computer, and that's about all. I needed a weekend like that.

The annual Allston-Brighton parade was on Sunday, and thank goodness we got back from the grocery store before it happened. Last year we got stuck on the wrong side of Comm. Ave. and had to drive all the way to Newton before we could turn around. They really ought to announce this parade in advance. When we got home I got online to try to find out why the police were setting up barricades all over the place, and I found out that not only was the parade going on, but that it had been postponed from September. I didn't even know it was supposed to have been in September. They REALLY need some better advertising.

The fact that my computer will play DVDs just rocks. That means that if I want to watch DVDs, I don't need a TV to do it. I watched The Fellowship of the Ring while sitting in my room doing embroidery. Elrond's hair needs help. From the back, it's all right, but the front has knots tied in it, and aside from the bits with the knots tied in it, it looks like he doesn't have any hair. I've been observing this ever since the DVD came out in the first place.

Yow. It's 11:00 already. How did that happen?

You'd think after 6,000 years he's have a clue about how to do his hair.

As for the DVDs, if I could get the DVD drive to work right in Windows...

Funny thing. It works as a data drive no problem in Linux. In Windows it needs a very intrusive "Creative Disk Detector" to do anything other than spin up and spit out the disk.

Now I need to find out how to translate the audio files from GTA III to MP3 so I can have all those funky radio stations on my PC at work. (PS2 game CDs are by and large a DVD data format.)

Tonight, LAUNDRY! YES!

Yeah, I've noticed that about Elrond too. Legolas should give him fashion tips.

I already found that, this weekend. I've decided the Bassoon of Gondor is even sillier than the Xylophone of Gondor. You have to sit down to play the bassoon.

Tuba of Gondor?

Banjo of Gondor?

Spoons of Gondor?
