More random thoughts in no particular order:

I got out of Boston only 40 minutes late today. Which, considering the weather on both ends of the trip, was a minor miracle.

Kent, thank goodness, does not have three feet of snow. It doesn't have any snow at all.

When I get my new computer, it will be called Collapsible Moose, thanks to a very silly and not-as-random-as-it-sounds conversation.

Three weeks of junk mail takes a while to get out of my mailbox.

Thou shalt not read thy published translation three months after translating it, because thou spendest way too much time thinking about how it should have been done instead.

I have to go buy a hair dryer tomorrow. I've never owned a hair dryer in my life.

My bonsai tree is probably dead. It looks very yellow.

I really hope I've got Dad's cold, because if I do, it won't last very long.

I'm old enough now that the prospect of falling over in my own bed after sleeping in guest beds for three weeks is a wonderful thing.

How in the world do they manage to make the air in airports so dry?

Tired. Time for food and shower and sleeping until I'm done sleeping.

I wish I had gotten to see the people I didn't get to see while I was in Boston. Entirely my fault that I didn't.

Everyone loves the translation, dear. You almost got a Pushcart nomination for it (which I've never even come close to getting). One of the most ardent translators of poetry loves it, in Sam Hamill. You should be proud:)

ps...my bonsai tree turned yellow and died last winter, too. But the cool thing about bonsais is that if you just stop watering them and they dry out, they still look sorta need, even dead.

It's an occupational hazard; no translation is ever really done.

I had to go look up what a Pushcart Prize was. I promise, the translation's not THAT good.
