dchenesI went to bed at 8:30 last night. Apparently I needed the sleep.
The Chronicles of Master Li arrived yesterday, WAHOO! Maybe now I can stop with the acquisitive kick I seem to be on. I'm getting sick of having to keep track of which month's credit card bill a purchase goes on. I only have one credit card for a very good reason.
Next order of business is new contact lenses and Hanukkah presents for various people. I'm coming up completely blank on the subject of presents for people in general this year, and the fact that Hanukkah comes early isn't helping.
I should take advantage of my boss being out of the country this week to file things and clean off my desk and stuff like that. The problem is that even though my boss is gone, everybody else is still here, so I still get interrupted for "broken" computers and treatment plans and phone calls and people who can't open the office door (which is locked) and all like that there. I just don't get the highly random and half undecipherable interruptions I get from my boss. Maybe tomorrow morning during the department seminar I'll be able to tackle the desk cleaning.
I still don't know what to write about for my French writing sample. Possible topics I've thought up so far:
Not knowing what to write about
Being in France for a semester in college and the different view of life they have in France
American politics (bleah)
Why I want to get into the graduate program (which I should save for my oral statement)
The history of my learning to like coffee (OK, that's just silly)
At this point I'm starting to lean toward doing a stream-of-consciousness exercise in French and seeing if that gets me any brilliant topic ideas. I only have to come up with 500 words on whatever topic it is.
