Apparently I hate vacuuming so much that instead of doing it, I will put it off in order to prune an overgrown rosebush with dull scissors and without gloves. OW. I only perforated my right thumb badly, and got a blister from the scissors. And even if it was a fairly thorny rosebush, and I was sadly under-equipped, it felt good to go play in the dirt for a while.

I also sorted out a lot of stuff I haven't touched since I moved in, threw most of it out, found homes for the rest of it, cleared out all of the living room chairs, excavated the bedroom floor, and got the forms I need to take to Ravenna to take the written test to get a learner's permit. (It's quite a dog and pony show, apparently; you go to the local license office, prove you're who you say you are, pay them $22, and get a state ID, a couple of forms that say you're you, and the Ohio driver's manual. Then you go to Ravenna and take an eye test and the written part of the driving test, and when you pass that, you can start taking driving lessons. The trick to that is, the office in Ravenna is only open on Tuesday and Saturday. This is going to be, um, interesting.)

Somehow I don't think I'm going to get around to vacuuming today. That's the last bit of real cleaning I have to do; the rest is all organizing things.

Pardon me while I go remove a splinter of rosebush from my thumb.
