It's alive!

Yes, I'm still alive, and living in Kent, and will hopefully have both internet and long-distance phone enabled by Monday.

I had my first class last night. Graduate Research and Writing, consisting of four native French speakers and me. Talk about jumping in at the deep end, but I survived. Fortunately there are only two papers for this class, and the second one will be in English.

I really must put my bicycle back together. We had to take the front wheel off to get it to lie flat in the truck on the way out here, and now both parts are sitting in my laundry room looking ridiculous and not doing me any good. Speaking of which, I need a washing machine. That'll have to wait until I have a job, though.
