Errand: buy a couple of bottles of beer (one Great Lakes Brewing Company's Edmund Fitzgerald porter, which was good, and the other is Stoney Creek Vanilla Porter, which piqued my curiosity. Not sure what to drink it with, though.)

Result: having consumed beer last night, I slept better than I had in about the last week or so.

Errand: buy the Translation Studies Reader (ed. Lawrence Venuti) because the library copy is out and two other people have holds on it already.

Result: got it used, for less than it costs on Amazon even before shipping. Now I can read the articles I need on the trip to CT. This is an extremely good thing and makes me very happy. The bookstore was also having a "for pity's sake make some of these KSU baseball caps go away" sale, so I bought one of those too.

Errand: figure out how to afford the $40 it will cost me to go to my HS reunion next Friday

Result: the $300 that went missing last month seems to be back again. Not sure how, but glad it's back!

Errand: get some books on tape from the public library to listen to for aforementioned trip (supposedly seven hours one way)

Result: got some Sherlock Holmes, some Garrison Keillor and a biography of Catherine the Great. Also found out that the bond issue passed, so the library will be at least doubling in size in the future and will be able to shelve its entire collection. Yay!

Errand: get some various food to hold body and soul together until Tuesday

Result: went to the grocery store and discovered they're having a "for pity's sake make some of these spices go away" sale. I went a little overboard, but I now own things like paprika and ground cloves and sage and lemon pepper and allspice. This makes me happy for no particular reason.

So that was my day yesterday, and the grocery store trip was this morning, and life is pretty darn good. The big stuff I was sweating has been dealt with, and the small stuff is making me happy.
