SPROING!

Spring is sprung! It's warm enough out that I've got all the windows open and the heat off. Hooray! If it wasn't the muddy and/or melting sort of nice day out, I'd be outside somewhere with a book.

Today has been a highly personally productive day. I did three loads of laundry and went grocery shopping. I haven't touched anything academic all day, but I don't care. I got a lot of personal-maintenance things done that needed to get done, and I can be academic tomorrow. If it's nice again tomorrow, I'm going to take everything I can't wash (like my featherbed and my living room rug) outside and air them out.

Usually my brain knows it's spring before the weather does. This year the weather beat me to it. I'm glad it works that way occasionally.

coincidences and conjurations

Every so often I think the universe gets a kick out of playing with my brain. I was cleaning out my bookshelf, where I keep my tapes and CDs and such, and ran across a tape a friend had made for me. I hadn't heard from this person in ages, and I hadn't played the tape in even longer, so I put the tape in. Just now when I opened my e-mail, there was a message from this person. Now, I know I didn't conjure him just by playing this tape, but it certainly feels like it.
