soup and mail
Apr. 2nd, 2004 10:57 amWell, it turned out to be minestrone, in the sense of "Italian catch-all soup". That's what minestrone was invented for anyway.
( What went into it )
I burned the garlic and the onion flakes (I bloody always do that), but the soup itself is quite good, especially with parmesan cheese sprinkled on it, and particularly with bread to soak in it.
My Literary & Cultural midterm did finally turn up in the prof's office, so I get it back today.
It seems not to be raining at the moment, but the last time the sun was actually out was probably while I was in Amherst. Supposedly it's only going to be partly cloudy next week, but it's going to snow on Sunday.
I seem to only be getting mail for three extra people lately, probably because I got a wedding invitation for two others and wrote "no such addressees" on it and sent it back, so I don't get their mail any more. They accounted for most of the mis-addressed mail I got. I still get an amazing number of advertising circulars, though. I think it works out to about one per day, although I usually get three or four together on one day. I keep looking for an address to write to in order to be taken off the list, but I haven't found one yet. It amazes me that the post office will deliver that stuff when it isn't even addressed to Occupant or Resident or some such. It just shows up in my mailbox, and I put it straight into the paper recycling bag. (I suppose it says something about the state of things out here that I don't ever get takeout menus, which is mostly what we got in Boston by way of non-credit-card junk mail. Just in case I needed reminding that I'm in the middle of nowhere...)
Enough rambling. I should get my brain in order so I actually remember the errands I want to get done today.
