field trip
Apr. 9th, 2004 03:40 pmI went to the French coffee hour, and ran into a friend there. We got talking about all sorts of stuff, including the fact that carrying groceries around is good exercise, and she suggested I go out to Aldi's because it's cheaper. The trick is, you need to take a bus to get there. So we went and found the bus, and sat around for fifteen minutes waiting for a bus driver to show up. He finally did show up, and we went out to Aldi's, which had no seltzer, which is what I need to go shopping for. So we went to Kmart, which was across the street, and they didn't have any either, so we came home.
Now, the really fun part about this is that my left contact lens managed to tear sometime during the coffee hour, but I didn't know that until I took it out while we were waiting for the bus driver. Since my vision was marginally better with the torn lens than with no lens at all, I put it back in again, and basically couldn't see very much out of my left eye for the duration of the field trip. Just now when I got home and replaced the lens, I discovered it had torn in half completely. Ever tried fishing half a contact lens out of your eye? It's disturbing.
Anyway, now I can see, and I'm going to the grocery store to buy seltzer. Happy Friday.
