Feb. 7th, 2005 04:12 pmMy CLD class has only three students in it, including me, so when one is out sick, I get put on the spot more often. Sometimes being the only Anglophone is a pain, because although I have a pretty good vocabulary, I don't carry an entire thesaurus around in my head, so I can't always come up with the exactly right word instantly.
Anybody who has access to an academic library and nothing better to do for a while ought to go look up the Declassified Documents Resource. It's an online archive of government correspondence. (Nothing recent, of course; I think the most recent things in there are circa the Reagan administration. If I remember correctly, they wait 25 years before they de-classify things.) I was looking for ambassadorial letters, and found them, although nothing that was terribly helpful to my particular situation. Anyway, it's interesting stuff to poke around in.
I still have too much stuff to do, but today I feel more inclined to do it. Speaking of which, I have to remember to re-do the coffee hour posters for the third time so I can post them tomorrow. With any luck at all, the leech didn't hear that we're changing the day and the time, and I won't have to deal with him this week.
Oh yes, and now I desperately need ink for my printer. Printing things in green isn't working any more either.
