venting (feel free not to read this)
Feb. 28th, 2005 12:08 pmI got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I seem to be having one of those days where I'm not in the mood for tact, or politics, or whatever you call it. I wish my advisor would just come out and tell me that my case study might eventually be good enough, but isn't there yet and will never be perfect; I'm tired of her implying it whenever I get feedback from her about it (that was the first e-mail I read today). I'm not in the mood to sit in class for two and a half hours this afternoon with her, trying to pretend I like legal translation and tripping over my tongue in two languages. I had a mental health day on Saturday; I shouldn't need one again already.
The idea that I'm getting burned out bothers me, because I can't afford to be burned out and the semester only started in January.
On top of that, I seem to have dyed my hair the only color nobody carries now that the grocery store is closed. (To be fair, I haven't tried Walgreens yet, but CVS doesn't have it and the remaining grocery store doesn't have it.) I don't want to go around looking like Mrs. Whatsername from Are You Being Served? in terms of "different month, different hair color". I like the color it is now, thank you very much, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Tomorrow it starts being March. I have yet to encounter a March that "goes out like a lamb". It comes in like a lion, roars for 31 straight days and goes out, thereby scaring all the lambs off until at least mid-April. I want it to be sunny for long enough to dry the ground out (ha), and if it wanted to be warm at the same time (ha), that would be good too. I think I'll add the weather to the list of things to talk to the Minister of Convenience about, as soon as somebody appoints one.
