Ye gods, parallel texts are a pain sometimes! The current pain involves trying to find the text, not the application forms, of a modern marriage license. So far I've only been able to find the text for a marriage license from 1899. I suppose for married translators, it's easier; at least they've seen a modern marriage license once. The application forms only give me the information that goes in the blanks; what I need is everything between the blanks.

I had actually forgotten about the marriage license entirely, until I got a phone call from my classmate yesterday asking me if I wanted to go out for a rather late lunch. Which I did, and we got talking about what we hadn't done this week, and the marriage license came up.

The lasagna came out pretty well, except it needs salt. I managed to get the foil off without losing most of the cheese, by the simple expedient of cutting the cheese off the foil where it stuck. I wish I were eating lasagna in Noank, and if spring break had been this coming week, I might have been. Oh well, I get to see my parents and my sister again in six weeks or so anyway.

I wish most of my post-graduation plans weren't hinging on things beyond my control.

I wish...well, never mind.
