anybody know any good rain dances?

I've been asking the weather to just get it over with and RAIN, ALREADY, since yesterday. The weather is not listening to me. It's humid enough that it might as well be raining, and cloudy enough to rain, and I don't know why it isn't raining.

Gmail is back, which is nice of it. (Not that I got anything important in my Gmail account while it was down, of course, but it's nice to have it back anyway.)

I am hereby swearing off Tim Burton movies entirely. As usual after I watch a Tim Burton movie, I had nightmares last night. I guess it's just plain the wrong kind of weird for my brain to deal with.

Now that I have a decent table, I have to remember not to cover it with random stuff, and also remember that I don't have to eat at my desk any more.

1. It rained, finally.

2. I got a response and a sample text from the FR-EN medical translation job. It's a one-year contract if I get it. The sample text they sent me is exactly the kind of thing I love doing. The only down side is, the contract (if I get it) doesn't start until October.

3. However, I have a call in to a temp agency. Hopefully I can get an appointment with them this week.

4. Time Warner Cable sent me a bill with an $86 credit on it. Since they're in Ohio, theoretically they should send me the $86. Even if I never see the money, though, it's a bill I don't have to pay.

All in all, for a Monday, this is a pretty good day.
