Went to Arisia. Bought membership for Saturday, and good thing, too, because they wouldn't have let me in anywhere (including a movie in a public room) without it (when did they get so strict?). Spent a horrendous lot of money on a custom-made corset, so I'll have one that fits. (Anybody want to buy my black and silver one?). Had an excellent, low-key but expensive dinner at Legal Seafood (hello, sticker shock) and missed the entire masquerade (the dinner was better anyway). Went to Finale for dessert after about an hour of attempts to collect several people all in the same place, got rained on on the way back at 12:15, had to get somebody to unlock the coat check for me, went to the tech party for about an hour, spent about an hour trying to catch a cab (bad sign when you ask the hotel to call one and they say you're better off standing outside in the rain and doing it yourself), finally caught one, got rained on some more walking up from Roxbury Crossing, and here I am. Fun day, but long. Now I am going to bed.

whither the weather
Jan. 15th, 2006 04:33 pmWhen I went to bed last night (this morning) it was raining. When I got up, it was snowing. When I went out to the grocery store just now, it was hailing, and windy, and undeniable snot-freezing weather. All in all, I'm glad I was waiting for a cab in the rain rather than in what it's doing right now.
Time to go even out the hair color, do the dishes, and start making whatever this week's lunch/culinary experiment is going to turn out to be. I honestly have no idea whether it'll be more like beef stew, or more like curry, or a total disaster. We shall see.
I got home fifteen minutes ago and my legs are still cold.
