anybody seen my desk?

My desk is disappearing under piles of paper. Most of them are probably going to get recycled because most of them are probably copies of stuff I already dealt with, but I want to look through them first; some of them are going to get mailed, one of them I would dearly love to be done with...and then I go home and look at the stuff that collects around the edges of my living room, and the pile of laundry in my bedroom, and I really want it to go away, but I don't have the energy to deal with it. (Gotta do laundry tonight, too.)

I'm waiting for email again, so I'm working on trying to cut down my Thursday-night list while I wait. Basically on Thursday night I want to do a lot of scanning and filing and other things that go better when they aren't being interrupted. (Memo to self: bring up the idea of a second scanner at the staff meeting next week.)

My landlord came and turned on the oven last night, and it worked. That figures. He did, however, tell me I'm probably getting a new stove anyway, and I'm definitely getting a new refrigerator in the spring. There's nothing wrong with the way my refrigerator works, but it's got rust spots all over the outside.

Since the oven decided to work, I finally made muffins, and they came out quite well for the batter being in the fridge for 24 hours.
