here commenceth the long weekend
Sep. 1st, 2006 06:30 pmLast September 1 wasn't this much of a pain in the neck. Of course, last September 1 I was unemployed and wasn't trying to get to Harvard Square and back on the bus in the middle of the day. The bus trip took an hour and a quarter in both directions, instead of the normal 40-odd minutes.
The other thing I did with my half day off was scrub down the shower grout with bleach. (Random tangent: "shower grout" sounds a lot like "sauerkraut", and I'm sure there are people who think that bleach is about as edible. I happen to like the stuff, though.)
I have to pack for this weekend, which means I have to decide how much dirty laundry I want to bring. I don't particularly want to haul a lot of it around, but I probably won't get laundry done until next weekend otherwise. Supposedly whatsisname in the basement is moving out in December, and then laundry will be less of a hassle. Laundry is the second best argument I've got for moving, right after permission to have pets. Unfortunately rents are still ridiculous and I still hate packing a place I'm living in.
However, it's Friday, and it's a long weekend, and that's all good.
