Whoof.
It is now 3:00, and the 19-item cleaning fit list I started with at 8:30 this morning is down to five items.
So far I have:
- Cleared up the random clothes pile in the corner of the bedroom (mostly dead pants and dead socks)
- Put down the storm windows in the bedroom
- Sorted out the laundry
- Vacuumed the bedroom floor
- Cleared off the living room floor
- Vacuumed the living room floor
- Vacuumed the floor pillows
- Cleaned the bathtub
- Replaced the shower curtain liner
- Cleaned the toilet
- Cleaned the bathroom sink
- Cleaned the bathroom mirror
- Washed the bathroom floor
- Dropped off the dry cleaning
- Bought a new shower curtain and bathmat (that wasn't on the list, but wanted doing)
- Replaced the old shower curtain and bathmat with the new ones
- Cleaned the fridge gasket (mildew; I hope it doesn't like bleach)
- Cleaned the kitchen counter
- Stuck Brillo in all the possible mouseholes I could find (also not on the list, but wanted doing)
- Leveled the stove out again (I knocked it off the shims the other night)
- Washed the kitchen floor
What I haven't done yet:
- Laundry (debating how much I need to do today, in the rain) half done; need to do the rest tomorrow
- Clear off the table
- Clear off the futon
- Weatherstrip the windows shut (this doesn't REALLY have to get done until the heat comes on)
- Clean the kitchen sink (waiting for the floor to dry)
Ignoring the three bags of laundry in the bedroom and the three bags of trash, one bag of recycling, and everything else that usually lives in the kitchen that's piled up in the living room until the kitchen floor dries, the place almost looks fit for human habitation again.
