Since I was a good kid yesterday, cleaning-wise, I decided to treat myself today. In aid of which, after my haircut, I bought myself the first pair of non-stud earrings I've bought in at least nine years, as far as I remember. Studs are convenient, because I can put them in and forget about them, but I used to wear long earrings all the time when I was in high school. I had quite the collection of them, too. The only ones that are left from that are the silver gryphons I haven't worn in ages, and the red feathers I haven't worn in even longer (which is why I forgot about them). Then I wandered through Brookline Booksmith, Peet's, and Trader Joe's.
Then, since the bus was taking an age and a half to show up and my haircut had been at noon, I treated myself to a couple of slices of pizza from Upper Crust. The best way to get a bus to show up is to be doing something you can't get on the bus and do at the same time (like eat pizza), and lo and behold, it worked; three buses showed up all together.
So here I am, home again, with shorter hair, longer earrings and a fuller stomach than I left with. Good deal. Next time I go out, though, I really should remember to go to a hardware store and get a cube tap so I can FINALLY plug the microwave in again. (Three-pronged microwave plug to two-pronged extension cord socket doesn't work so well.) I keep forgetting to do that.
