It's sort of vaguely disturbing when you look at your calendar on Monday morning and realize the earliest opportunity to run errands that take longer than an hour will be on Wednesday night.

Most of the problem is, I wasted yesterday to the point of not even getting dressed properly. On Saturday I picked up the embroidery project I hadn't worked on for most of a year, and got myself hooked again, and spent Sunday working on it. (I still don't like 28-count linen, but at least I don't absolutely hate it any more.) The section I'm working on now has six different shades of purple in it, and I'm getting a little tired of purple.

I also have to start designing H and J's wedding present. The wedding is next September, but it took me three months to design the last piece I invented, and that was relatively easy. (I stitched it in three days once I was happy with the design.) It might not be such a process if I weren't such a perfectionist. Oh well, it'll work out eventually. I've got to sit down with graph paper and pencil and a very large eraser and swear for a while, is all.

Hungry. Not quite lunchtime yet, unfortunately.

There's something not quite right about coming home soaking wet and having a hot shower and putting on warm and/or fuzzy clothes...and eating a tuna sandwich. It should have been something warm, like beef stew (for instance), but I'm not going to start cooking at 9:15 on a Monday night after a trombone lesson.
