network update, for anyone interested

It seems my router has stopped working. All the right lights are on, but apparently ain't nobody home. Resetting it didn't work, so the next thing is a firmware update, I guess. Next time, I buy an AirPort. I shoulda done that to begin with. Mutter mutter grumble Linksys mutter mutter...

Oh, by the way, it took me about ten minutes this morning to remember that when you've got the computer plugged directly into the cable modem, you have to turn the wireless network off or things get all confused. I shouldn't try to solve computer problems when I'm not entirely compos mentis yet.
