why I don't like phone calls

When I answer the phone at work, the first thing I say is "Faculty Affairs", followed by either "Dr. So-and-so's office", or my name, depending on whose line I'm answering. I just had an entire conversation with somebody whose native language is English and who (as it finally turned out after he had confused me thoroughly) thought he was talking to the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Even on a bad day I can't make "Faculty Affairs" sound like "Microbiology".
I suppose it's payback for my confusing the guy I was trying to order coffee from on Saturday. They didn't have any iced decaf, and he kept offering me variations on hot decaf. Eventually I stopped listening to him, and after some confusion on both of our parts, what I ended up with wasn't what I wanted. It did have ice in it, though.
