Of everything I did today, the one thing I'm happiest about is having reduced the 33-page evaluation committee report (with comments) to 29 pages, merely by archiving 10 records. Without comments, it's a 3-page document, but without comments it's also about as useful as four impacted wisdom teeth. (Actually, I lie; the 3-page version is useful for showing me whether or not all the bare-bones information is there, so I can enter it if it isn't.)

I go to the orthopedist on Thursday, and I hope they can find something actually wrong with my shoulder. I'm getting tired of doing completely mundane things that suddenly make it hurt, especially because sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. If it would only be predictable about what I can't do with it, that would help. Oh well, just you wait, 'enry 'iggins...

It seems to be a public-school vacation week again. I would've settled for a three-day weekend, myself. I guess I could've taken a personal day if I'd thought of it.

Next time I want barbecue for dinner, I oughta rent a car. I can't get to Blue Ribbon in Arlington and home again in under two and a half hours because it involves two buses and a train, and I can't get to Blue Ribbon in Newtonville by public transportation at all. Someday I'd like to be able to eat my takeout when it's at least warm.

There has got to be an easier way to do this.

(Yes, I gripe. The watermelons taste like rutabagas, and the kumquats taste like chives.)
