Aug. 25th, 2008 10:22 amI seem to have the "sinuses have been sandpapered and ear canals hurt" stage of a cold, which I probably acquired from my cousin two weeks ago. It started yesterday, and usually this stage goes away in 24 hours, but I almost called in sick today because I was Not Happy when I woke up.
Unfortunately I read my work email on Saturday (cat-related; otherwise I wouldn't have) and therefore knew about a large data-collection project that has to be done this week, so I had to come in today. This is what lemon tea is for. In the meantime, however, GLOORK.
I hope airfare becomes less ridiculous by the time I decide what I want to do with the 12 days of vacation time I didn't know I had. Step 1, regardless of where I decide to go, is to get my passport renewed. So far the list consists of India, Italy, England or Toronto. If I'm being honest about it, by the time I decide where I want to go and whether I can afford to do it (file that under Keep Dreaming), I'll probably have three weeks to play with. And I'll probably end up staying home. Or maybe I'll wait until I can't stand winter any more and go to Hawaii. Or...
I have my first MEEI eye appointment on Wednesday, which means that tomorrow I have to wear glasses all day instead of contact lenses. I forget how many prescriptions ago I got new glasses. Tomorrow's going to be interesting.
