I keep having to remind myself that just because I've almost got the credit card paid off, that doesn't mean I've actually got it paid off, and I shouldn't go crazy and buy every book I think I might want to read. That said, I did buy a couple of books yesterday:

Tell Me Where It Hurts, which I read yesterday afternoon. It's by a surgeon at Angell Memorial, and contains a lot of philosophy about modern veterinary medicine and why people have pets, mixed in with case histories. It doesn't get preachy, except once (and I'm on his side for that once).

Stiff, which I started this morning on the bus. So far (two and a half chapters in), it's interesting if slightly disturbing.

I sent my mother, who is a huge Pride and Prejudice fan, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and she loved it. Cauliflower will never be the same, and we'll never be able to mention it to each other without one of us laughing.

My circadian rhythm seems to be shifting nightward again. I wish I could let it. Going to bed two or three hours before my brain really wants to, five days a week, is frustrating.
