Yesterday turned out to be more useful than I thought; I made soup (thereby emptying about half of the freezer) and vacuumed the living room and washed the flannel sheets. And did not buy any eggnog, which is useful because I don't really need any.

As of yesterday, I've been employed by OFA (in three different official capacities) for five years. I don't know if I'll be here for another five years, but for now I'm not going anywhere. Steady income is addictive, and even though it wouldn't be called work if it was fun, I've had work that was a lot less fun.

I've been doing a lot less embroidery lately, and I think it's due to a completely silly combination of circumstances, to wit: there's less daylight these days and my green highlighter died. This pattern is so complicated I have to mark off what I've done, and since the green highlighter died, I've been using a yellow one. It's harder to see what I've marked off in yellow, so I tend to only embroider in daylight. That pretty much means I only embroider on weekends.

It's hard for a query to return results for May through November if there aren't any November results entered in the database to begin with. (This did not, however, keep me from thinking I had made a syntax error, and trying to fix that first.) I guess this is another one of those things I used to do that nobody does these days. Since I'm going to be the data wrangler for this particular database for the foreseeable future, I should probably start keeping up with it again.

Oh, this is even better than I thought it was! I thought it was somebody who didn't read my email, and emailed back a form I asked them to fax to a different office. Turns out it was somebody who didn't read my email and emailed back the instructions for the form I asked them to fax, while telling me it was the actual form. That's some inspired confusion, right there. Must be Monday.
