a slow morning and Theoretical Pancakes
Dec. 4th, 2010 08:40 pmToday started off on the right foot, meaning I got to lie around in bed for an hour and a half, reading a book and paying attention to Lily, who decided sometime before I woke up that she wanted to curl up right under my arm. Snip spent that hour and a half asleep with her head on my foot. It was all very cute and domestic and lazy-Saturday-morning.
Sometime after that, I wandered off to Coolidge Corner for a haircut, and had the fine wispy hairs on the back of my neck shaved off so I can stop having to disentangle them from my necklace chain every two minutes. Then I had a fit of insanity (well, sort of) and went down to the Apple store to replace my iPod. I was right; I really don't want to go anywhere near anyplace like that on a weekend in Christmas shopping season. But at least now I have an iPod that hasn't been fried, and seems to wake up more easily than its predecessor. In the fine old tradition (going on, oh, fifteen years now) of naming electronic devices for bands that should have been and weren't, the new iPod is called Theoretical Pancakes.
I also have cat food, because that was the other thing I actually needed to do today. I suppose tomorrow I should do something useful, but right now I'm not inclined to.
