Apr. 8th, 2011 11:41 amYesterday I took my first personal day in two years. Partly because I was so burned out I couldn't stand the idea of going to work, and partly because I wanted to get my eyes checked and sitting at work in sunglasses after your eyes have beeen dilated isn't as much fun as you'd think.
I went to the optical shop in Washington Square, because I've given up on MEEI. I walked down to Washington Square in the morning and found that the optical shop didn't open until 10:00, so went and got coffee and started making a list of things not to forget to pack. Went in at 10:00 and made an appointment for 4:00, and then went downtown and wandered around some, and went home by way of the grocery store (dinner ingredients) and the Super 88 food court (lunch). Merfed around at home for a couple of hours and then went back for the eye appointment.
I was right; my prescription changed. However, I was wrong about which eye it had changed in. And they have to order the new lens, so I have to muddle through with the old prescription for a little while. At least I have a current prescription for glasses now. I wish I could remember where I got my last pair of glasses from, because I don't know if I can go any old where and say "put new lenses in these frames, please?" Especially since these days all frames seem to be for rectangular lenses, and my old frames aren't. While I could probably afford new frames, I don't wanna.
Wow, MAJOR data dump project coming my way. I am so glad I know how to write queries in Access...
