Aug. 1st, 2011 02:15 pmI spent a lot of money again this weekend, but it was for good stuff (including embroidery supplies from three different online sources. As far as I can tell, you can't get Gloriana silk floss and Victoria Clayton silk floss from the same place.). I also found the SoWa Sunday market, and bought peaches and cherry tomatoes and scallop pate. I was hoping for peaches I could eat before next week, but no such luck. They're crunchy.
When I got home from the market, I collapsed in the living room and spent most of the rest of the afternoon watching the first DVD of season 1 of Count Duckula. I forgot how completely silly that show was. (Silly in a good way, however.) Eventually I got off the couch and turned the cherry tomatoes and some zucchini and feta and penne and a lemon into pasta salad for lunch this week. And there are worse dinners than scallop pate and black pepper water crackers.
I had another good voice lesson on Saturday, although I hadn't practiced as much as I probably should have over the course of the week. It surprises me how tired I am at the end of a 45-minute lesson. It's nice to have them in mid-afternoon, though; I can take the morning slowly if I want to, and the day's not over yet when the lesson is over.
The Hairy Beasts got the run of both stairwells on Saturday while I was home. Out the front door, up and down the front stairs, in the front door, through the apartment, up and down the back stairs, in the back door, collapse in the hall, get interested in something, out the front door...at least they tired themselves out for a while, and got to leave cat hair all over some brand new real estate.
