Jan. 6th, 2012 02:12 pmThis has been a short week that actually feels short. Unfortunately "short" doesn't mean "easy", especially since this is also the week before P&R and for some reason this meeting is turning into a bit of a political nightmare. At least I get paid to stay late and herd cats at work. (I don't try to herd the Hairy Beasts.)
Now that it's after the holidays, I'm back to one voice lesson per week. It's going to be a lot of work getting back to where I was before Thanksgiving/Mongolian Death Cold/Christmas, when I thought I was making progress on a regular basis. I always enjoy my lessons, but sometimes it's frustrating because I know I used to be better than I currently am. Now the trick is to get back to the level I was at before, and pass it.
I need to find out what sort of screen protector I have on my iPod, and get one for my phone. The screen protectors I bought from Sprint are awful. I've been through two in a week (they came as a set of three), and I managed to scratch the second one with a pencil eraser. In short, I am not impressed. I am impressed with the phone, though. Now all I need is to figure out how to get the keypad to reappear in the middle of a call, so I can deal with automated voicemail systems. "Press 1 for English" and all that. I guess that's what I get for being used to a phone that was pretty much a brick with buttons on it.
(four hours later)
Stick a fork in me, I'm done. It's a good thing today is Friday, because if it weren't, I'd have a terrible time not saying what I'm thinking for the rest of the week. I'm having a hard enough time with that as it is, and the people I would be unleashing it at don't deserve it. I can't unleash it at the people who do deserve it. ARGH.
