This year I'm not making any concrete resolutions. Last year's resolutions both fell through; the book list got screwed up when I re-read the same two books about three times in a row for brain candy purposes and didn't want to figure out how to list them, and the not overeating when stressed was doomed from the start.

In lieu of dealing with The List, which never ends, I did one thing that had been bothering me for a while. I finally finished the last of the Lavender & Lace seasons patterns. I had put it aside four years ago to start on The Golden Wood, and it had been sitting folded up on the mantel ever since. It needed the rest of the border stitched, and then it needed gold thread and beads. As of last night it's finished, and it's with the rest of the fire sale pieces. (Which, apparently, I'm stuck with.) Back to geometry for a while.

Speaking of geometry, I keep playing with the idea of taking algebra from the extension school. I sort of want to find out if I hate math because I'm not good at it, or if I hate it because I'm not good at it because I had bad teachers. I was good at geometry, but I had a teacher who loved it (or at least loved teaching it, which is different but also good). For the sake of the experiment, I can't just go buy a book and try to teach myself.

The other thing I want is to go somewhere this year. I would have gone to India again this winter, but the meeting schedule doesn't work that way. (I have hopes for next year's meeting schedule, because I mentioned to the scheduler that this year has been Not Much Fun.) So I think I'll take the Acela to Philadelphia sometime in the spring.
