Mar. 28th, 2012 01:21 pmI really need a vacation, because there's nothing about work that I'm not tired of dealing with. The idea of dealing with it all, all by myself, for all of July, is even worse. But in one and a half more weeks I don't have to go to work for a week, so there.
I finally found out why my quilt is falling apart. It turns out that Snip does, in fact, knead, but not when anybody's around to see her do it. I walked into my bedroom the other night and caught her at it. She also had her favorite puffball in her mouth at the time, so the whole picture was extremely silly. She knew it, too; she immediately dropped the puffball and led me off to the kitchen so I could watch her have a snack, which is her version of "you did NOT see me do that". (But I did, and she can't do a thing about it.)
The sun came out, hooray! If it can't be warm, at least there can be sun. I hope it does get around to being warm again one of these days, though. The regiment has reinvested in shorts, since its current shorts are umpteen years old and too short, and therefore don't get worn outdoors. Therefore the regiment has the pastiest-looking legs on the planet and has to keep wearing jeans all summer so as not to scare the livestock when it goes outdoors.
The marvelous new HMS web site is not so marvelous, so far. I'm not advocating that we go back to the site we had, which was ugly with a capital UGH, but it would be nice if I could actually find things like the parking reservations site. Obviously the people who designed the new site never used the old one. Functional is more important than snazzy, thank you very much.
