Sep. 5th, 2012 01:22 pmYesterday was brutal, because it consisted of two LONG P&R meetings. Days like that are days when I really wish I could call home and ask the Hairy Beasts to make me a sandwich so I can inhale it when I get there. Doesn't work that way, though, and I finally got home at 8:00 last night and boiled some noodles.
Today's excitement consists of a raccoon on the fire escape outside the office right across from the cube I'm currently in. (No idea when they'll be done with the work in 210. It was supposed to take two weeks, but that was three weeks ago and they're still cluttering up the hall with major pieces of ductwork.) Anyway, every so often I look over and yep, raccoon, still there. I think he's asleep, because every time I look, there's less of him above the windowsill. Mostly what's visible now is ears.
The nomadic life I'm leading at work has caused me to be without a phone for two weeks now. Mostly I like that, because if I don't have one I can't answer anyone else's, but it did get inconvenient when I had to call IT and get the P&R email account's password reset. It took me an embarrassingly long time to remember that I could do it by cell phone.
I'm drinking entirely too much high-octane coffee again. I should stop that. At least I'm not enabling anybody else's addiction; Lily really wanted some coffee ice cream the last time I had any, and I wouldn't share. I don't think I've ever had any ice cream she didn't want. (Cherry Garcia, Phish Food, coffee, burnt caramel, chocolate and peach spring to mind.) Silly beast.
