The kitchen floor isn't getting re-tiled until at least October 1, which is later than I really wanted, but I can't do anything about it. At least the state it's in now is somewhat livable. By which I mean it doesn't smell funny all the time these days.

I just wish I wasn't getting so many phone calls about the floor interspersed with so many emails about how the family is going to get the grandparents settled in Franklin next week. I think I've volunteered to go help move some furniture on Sunday, but I don't know if I'm really necessary or not. Since the furniture is going into the Little House and it's called the Little House for a good reason, we don't need legions of furniture movers and door openers. After a certain point, we'd just be getting in each other's way.

Besides all of the above, I got two P&R meetings posted all by myself yesterday and only made two major mistakes. I caught the first one about half an hour after I made it, and fixed it before anybody noticed. The second one didn't register on me until 11:30 last night, just as I was falling asleep. My brain suddenly figured out that the reason I thought something was missing was because it was (namely the links to the votesheets from the main pages), and since I've gotten email from committee members at ungodly hours like 1:30 AM before, I couldn't wait until this morning to fix that. Fortunately it's an easy fix, so I launched myself out of bed and logged in and fixed it, and then went back to bed. Technically, as junior staff, I'm not supposed to work from home. However, if it's a choice between spending five minutes online in the middle of the night fixing a mistake and not sleeping for guilt over making the mistake in the first place, the five minutes online wins. (As of the end of today, nobody has submitted any votes, but they've got until the end of Tuesday to do it, so I'm not worried yet.)

Tomorrow, I believe, there will be beer. I don't need to go out and get drunk like I did last Friday, but there will be beer at home.
