dchenes: (katana)
I'm not entirely sure how I got through this week. Getting off the bus a mile from home after P&R on Tuesday, because I was having a coughing fit and couldn't stop it, was probably a good idea. Walking the rest of the way home was not a good idea at all. I got home at 6:45, fed cats, fed self, and went to bed at 8:30. And then went to work on Wednesday. That was probably not a good idea either.

On the other hand, I think taking Monday off is one of the better ideas I've had lately. For one thing I need the rest, and for another, I have absolutely no desire to deal with either work and the marathon or work and the baseball game. So I'm not. So there. I'm staying home, and if it's one of those days when I don't get dressed properly all day, so be it. I just hope it's open-window weather again by Monday, because I really want open-window weather.

The overarching theme of all of this is that I am thoroughly tired of being sick. I was 95% over the cold I got in Ireland when this one hit me. I remember what "better" felt like, and I'd really like that to be what I usually feel like, thank you. I will, however, admit that it's kind of nice that the cats don't head for the bomb shelter when I wake myself up coughing. (They certainly did when we had the thunderstorm early Tuesday morning, though.) The fact that both cats are sleeping on the bed is more about the weather than about being Faithful Catpanions, but misery loves company, so I ignore that.

The more I read about the state of student loans these days, the more glad I am that I paid mine off.
