dchenes: (katana)
At work in sandals again, now that the worst blister has healed some, and cautiously optimistic that I might not have to go everywhere accompanied by an entire box of bandaids. Today being Thursday, I don't have to walk home if I don't want to, so I think I won't.

Too much cheese is not good for my absent gallbladder. I don't think I knew that before, since I would have remembered it and not overindulged yesterday. But now I know that I shouldn't do that again. I still feel somewhat ooghly this morning, so I definitely shouldn't do that again. (It may have been too much cheese and too much other stuff, but it was definitely too much cheese.)

Speaking of food, though, I've decided that I should put on the dress I'm smokin' hot in and go out for dinner somewhere sometime soon. I'm interested in the place that replaced Casablanca in Harvard Square, so maybe I'll go there. (Alden & Harlow. I had to look it up because it was bothering me.) The question is when the weather and the budget are both going to be favorable. The budget is, of course, more predictable than the weather. Especially lately.

Aha. Apparently the feeling ooghly is on account of some organs I still have, as opposed to the one I don't. I suppose it's nice to get cramps so rarely these days that I forget what they feel like. However, oogh.

I'm trying to take two weeks off before the new students show up on August 18. Which means either July 21-Aug 1 or July 28-Aug 8 (thereby giving myself a week to get back into the groove before the new students show up). In either case, that feels early. The down time in OFA was the month of August, and I used to take two weeks in late August off. Couldn't do that last year on account of starting in ODE on August 5, though, so didn't really have any summer vacation last year. Lesson learned, though. Question now is whether I want to go to the Cape for a week, or whether I want to go to the Cape for a weekend and Providence for a weekend (the only thing I know about Providence is where it is; I don't know what it consists of) and Maine for three or four days so I can say I've been to both Portlands. Or maybe I want to stay home and be lazy. I don't know yet. But apparently I have to decide soon, at least about which two weeks I want to do whatever with.
