Jan. 26th, 2015 08:04 pmDespite being Snowpocalypse Eve, today was a fairly productive day. I went to work and submitted Yet Another Article to the Journal of Curriculum and Teaching (I'm sure it will come back needing six or seven corrections before they send it to be reviewed, but that's how that always goes), and went and got my teeth cleaned, and finally accepted the inevitable and made an appointment for next week to have an impression taken for a night guard. But I'm going to hold them to the promise that I won't choke on the thing in my sleep. I'll be most displeased if that happens.
And then I came home and found the phone bill, which is going to be twice as high as usual because I never got last month's, and (finally) my W2. So I did my taxes tonight. Based upon which, I guess now I can stop suffering and write that symphony, or at the very least indulge in noise canceling headphones for the Australia trip. Part of the reason travel wears me out so much is because of the airplane noise. If I can make some of that go away, I might not actually cry when they won't let me check into the hotel for another six hours once I get there.
Tomorrow, as long as the power stays on, calls for a comic book movie marathon. And soup stock (for soup to be determined later), but I can do that even without the power being on since I have a gas stove and a box of matches. The power doesn't usually go out here, but there's always a first time. I think the last time was years ago and it was on account of a squirrel in the transformer box. Not so likely a circumstance this time, I think.
