Mar. 4th, 2016 12:04 pmToday being the 4th of March, it's March Forth Day. It's slightly unfortunate that I marched forth and ended up at work, but at least it's also Friday, so I don't have to march back here tomorrow. I've had just about enough of CODA Standard 2 for this week anyway. (I've had about enough of CODA Standard 2 for the next couple of months, actually, but I'm stuck with it until October 2017.)
As usual, here it is March and I'm wondering why it isn't warm yet. Because February was four days ago, that's why, but I still want it to be warm. At least it's getting to the point where it's not pitch dark when I get home. I might be cold, but at least there's usually a sunset I can look at while I wait for the walk light at Washington & Monastery. (And now it's snowing. I thought it wasn't supposed to do that until tonight?)
I guess Lily decided being locked out before dinner wasn't fun, because she hasn't snuck out again since. My cardiovascular system and my mental health both appreciate that.
Last weekend I made umpteen-bean soup, but it was expensive umpteen-bean soup because I used bison broth. I didn't put anything in it except beans, broth and kielbasa, but I've been cooking rice and putting that and some chili powder in and enjoying it quite some. I'm not sure the bison broth is worth $6 per quart, but I do think it tastes different from beef broth. Now that I know that, I can file it for future reference. I'm getting a little tired of bean soup, though, so I'm glad I'm almost done with it. Two more bags of commercial 16-bean soup and then I buy my own beans and mix them up, so I don't spend half an hour picking lentils out of the commercial mixes. That's a good way to end up with about five or six pounds of mixed beans, though, and I don't like bean soup THAT much. I wonder how 15-bean salad would work?
