Apr. 5th, 2018 07:12 pmI think I detect shenanigans. There's a lunch meeting in my boss's calendar tomorrow with a completely nondescript name, which I wouldn't care about except I clicked on it by accident while trying to open the meeting after it, and in the notes it said "Sorry, renamed in case she can see other calendars". So that got me curious and it turns out I'm the only member of ODE not invited to this meeting. And now I'm driving myself insane trying to figure out why all of ODE, two of the three admins from Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity, the chair of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology, and the Dean for Administration and Finance are all invited and I'm not. I suppose if I REALLY wanted to know, I could go look in the room reservation system and find out whether I fell off an email list, or if they're being sneaky. If they're being really sneaky, they'll remember I can see all reservations in the room booking system and will have named that something innocuous too.
I'm afraid they're going to make a big deal out of me somehow, because I'm friendly with the OMII admins and the OHPE chair, and I'm up for two institutional awards and I'm afraid this is going to be a "you'll be on vacation when they announce the awards, and you're going to get one, so here's a cake" sort of thing.
(Oh, they are being SNEAKY. They called it "ODE Meeting" and reserved the room under my name. I know for sure I didn't make that reservation.)
Or I could be completely wrong, and I was supposed to be invited to this thing and fell off an email list. That happened last week when I fell off the "Order lunch on ODE!" email because the other person whose name starts with M got it twice. But it's a fairly compelling conspiracy theory.
