So, today I looked at five studio apartments. One is Right Out, because it hasn't been cleaned since the Reagan administration. (They should try renting it to an undergrad with a twin bed and less sense of hygiene than I've got.) Another is out because my bed might almost fit in it. A third is almost out because it's considerably older than I am and showing its age. Which leaves me with two possibilities, one of which has, wonder of wonders, a dishwasher!
I walked out on one realtor who couldn't be bothered with me when I walked in (the sign that said Walk-ins Welcome lied, apparently), and then proceeded to treat me like a penniless undergrad when she did deign to have two minutes for me. Her first question was Where are you living, in a hotel, her second was Do you have a job, and her third was So you have a co-signer, then? This after I said I had finished my Master's degree. She left the room to deal with somebody who had an appointment, and I decided I didn't need to deal with her.
I also got rained on a lot, and got my umbrella turned inside out at least three times, and went to Cardullo's on the bus and got some dark chocolate with peppercorns in it. I am now tired, hungry and not going back out in the weather again at least until it's light out.
