weather and lack thereof
Jun. 27th, 2005 10:53 amHot and humid is one thing, but hot and humid and dead calm is another level of hell entirely if you have to go run errands in it. The air just sits there and defies you to move through it. I'm not going anywhere near the laundromat until it stops being 90 out (which they say is going to be tomorrow). The combination of industrial dryers and humid 90-degree weather makes me tired just thinking about it.
In the course of doing errands yesterday, I discovered that (a) it's cherry season, finally, and (b) the grocery store has cherries on sale this week. That makes me a very happy camper. So after I got home from the grocery store, I lounged around eating cherries for a while.
I've come to the conclusion that there's no way around it; I'm going to have to go buy some bubble wrap (also known as a horrendous distraction in the unpacking process, because when I don't need it any more, there's nothing to keep me from stomping on it, and it makes such a satisfying noise...never mind.)
We need a thunderstorm out here, speaking of satisfying noises. It hasn't rained in practically forever.
