Jul. 15th, 2005 06:43 pmOK, I'm back for good now. I'm sitting in my very own living room, typing away, happy as a clam. Or at least as happy as a clam can be when it's this hot out.
On Monday, I start papering the translation agencies with resumes. I didn't get the job at the École Bilingue, but I wasn't expecting to. I think what they really wanted was somebody whose native language is French and whose main ambition is to be a receptionist.
So what, you ask, have I been up to since I got here? Well, you didn't ask, but I'm going to tell you anyway. I've been doing a LOT of walking around, finding things (I found the grocery store after only about a week, and was made very happy thereby), getting lost, knowing where I was but getting turned around, rearranging my living room, trying to figure out where to put kitchen stuff, swearing at my living room lightbulbs, getting my cell phone replaced, having a fairly low-key birthday, making lists and losing them, creating tremendous amounts of trash in the process of unpacking, and being a bit of a lazy bum when I can get away with it.
In the middle of that list up there was my birthday. I still want to do something about it with other people. Anybody feel like coming and having Ethiopian food with me sometime soonish?
When I get this place put together to an extent that I'm not ashamed to have people see it, I'm having a housewarming. Further details as I come up with them.
