I wanted thunderstorms and downpours and all like that there, but I'll settle for what we got. At least the air doesn't feel quite so much like a wet blanket. (Says I, who hasn't been out hiking around in today's weather yet.) Yesterday I had to go out and do the bank-account lambada in order to get most of my money into a bank that actually has branches in Massachusetts so I can stop paying fees on ATM transactions. When we finally get a Minister of Convenience, I'm going to have to talk to him about a "decline fee and continue transaction" option on ATM withdrawals.

Today I have interviews with two different temp agencies. I know I need money before anything else, but it seems I need money in order to buy translation software in order to get work from agencies. I was looking at one of the major translation job boards last night, and one of the postings looked awfully familiar. Same job, different agency. I guess the job really is out for bids. I'm not sure it would be ethical to put myself in for the same job with multiple agencies, but it's sort of tempting anyway. It's not quite like multiple contractors using the same subcontractors on bids for the same project, though. I'm following the rule of "if you're not certain, don't do it", so even if it is ethical to apply to competing agencies for the same job, I'll stick with the one agency.

I should really take out the rest of the unpacking trash, unload, relocate and reload the bookshelf so I have a place to put the futon when I get it, reorganize the living room so it makes more sense, take out the recycling and the kitchen trash, unpack the last box of clothes (winter coats), etc., but I think I need somebody else here to keep me company while I do it. For some reason I'm having a hard time convincing myself to do all that stuff by myself.
