Some day somebody's going to have to do a study on why, exactly, people all seem to feel the need to call any given office all at the same time, in clumps. It's absurd. You sit there for half an hour, and just when you think you can get up and go to the bathroom without missing any calls, you get three or four calls spaced such that whichever line you aren't answering at the moment is ringing. This has happened to me at every job I've ever had that involved answering the phone, and it's not predictable. It doesn't happen at lunchtime, or five minutes before the office closes; it happens at random times like 10:37.

Yes, it was a busy day, and on top of that I seem to have some sort of sore throat and cough, and a mild headache. I think I'm staying home tonight.

Why won't it just open up and pour, already?
