...dance.

Now, I don't dance very well. When I'm dancing by myself I usually feel ridiculous, and when I'm dancing with somebody else, I'm one of those people whose partners should wear steel-capped boots.

However, for no reason at all, today I want to dance. Maybe it has something to do with the song stuck in my head.

On to other things:

- Fixing the shutter last night involved making it even more broken than it was to begin with, mostly because I unscrewed the wrong side of the hinges and the corner that was broken but hadn't actually let go yet, promptly let go. So I started with the frame in two pieces and the louvers completely separated from the frame. At least that meant it didn't take me an hour and a half to put everything back together correctly. After I did get it all put back together, I super glued the heck out of the frame, and hung it back in the window again. It was still holding together this morning, and I managed not to super glue it to the carpet in the living room, so I'm reasonably proud of myself.

- This whole laundry situation is getting ridiculous. I'm down to the emergency backup for my emergency backup underwear, because I can't do laundry at home except on weekends and I have to give notice a day in advance so the guy living in the basement knows to leave the door unlocked. I was doing other things last weekend, anyway. I might as well just give up and start doing laundromat laundry again. (At least almost everything else I've been wearing to work lately requires dry cleaning, so I'm not out of work clothes, only out of underpinnings for work clothes.)

- Speaking of laundry, I have to fix the hem on my red skirt.

- Speaking of skirts, I read somewhere that you shouldn't wear red to a wedding. Has anybody else heard that one, and is there a reason why not?

If it's any consolation, I'm down to my winter wooly boxers!

I have heard that; and it's basically because it's too flashy of a color, and like wearing white makes it too likely you'll draw attention away from the bride. That said, I've worn red to weddings; it really depends on the wedding and the bride whether it is appropriate or not.

Want to come do laundry at our place? We can give you a lift if you need it. And that way you can do it any time you want. You'd be welcome to borrow our laundry fascilities any time. Just call and let me know when you would want to do it. Actually, we have haircuts at noon on Saturday so you could just meet us in Brookline and we could give you a lift back to our place, set up laundry, and then go farmstand hopping while the wash runs.

Sounds like a plan. How about if I meet you at 1:30 in Coolidge Corner?

Marmota mentioned that the other day, and it was the first time I had ever heard such a thing. He just said that it wasn't conservative enough. But seriously, that's the first time in my 33 years that I had ever heard anyone say not to wear red.

I wouldn't wear red to a Chinese wedding, because that's the bride's color.

I wore red to whuffle's wedding. It's a color that signifies celebration in some cultures.

Or I could just teach you...
